Game of Kings.

“It’s…”

Galaxy knew his father was ill. You don’t build a robot to work with astronauts without some manner of medical scanner. Being around him long enough, even if he tried to keep the conversation pleasant he couldn’t help but do a passive scan. The cursory glance being enough to know he may not have all that much time left. Time Galaxy would rather spend securing some legacy for the house of Light. Some great work his father could look at and know that when he is gone it won’t be the end of the world for his children.

Until then, all Galaxy could feel in his father’s presence was guilt.

“It’s complicated. Please let me leave it at that. It’s still your move if you want to keep playing.”

Ooh, awkward. Rock just smiles though and rubs the back of his neck apologetically.

“Okay, no problem.” he says, looking over the chessboard now, seeing what moves were still even left to make. “So, what does the defense program do, anyway? I’m guessing, hmm…. makes a shield out of huge corks to plug up the black holes?” he ventures, maybe kidding maybe not. Sometimes it was hard to tell with him.

The chessboard wasn’t looking so promising though- not that it was a surprise. Chess wasn’t exactly the blue bomber’s forte. However, continuing in the face of defeat was, and he moves his queen into a particularly risky spot- but if it worked, the payout would be sweet.

“I don’t know. In fact I can’t know. I designed a specialized algorithm to develop a plan without my knowledge with all the inputted elements. If I knew the particulars when and if I entered a rogue state, it would prove a useless tactic.”

Rook takes queen.

“Only you will know what it does, and only if it becomes necessary.”

Laboratory shenanigans (@ Galaxy)

Auto was in Galaxy Man’s Lab. Oh, he was so happy, that Galaxy allowed to use it! There were a lot of tools, he could use to build his own lab, finally.
“Uh, Galaxy man? Are you here?”

It doesn’t seem so. Well, then there was enough time to look at this place a little bit closer. He promised himself that he won’t break something. He actually wasn’t a destroyer, he was more like a hobbledehoy. He made mistakes BY mistake and not because he wanted to do so.

That’s what happened to message man, although he was sure that a piece of the cable had a fissure that was so small, that no one could see it. So it wasn’t his fault. Maybe he was just an unlucky person…

A small keening noise came from down around Auto’s feet.

Thereupon the floor sat a small grey and black feline wearing a collar modeled after after a shirt collar and necktie. It’s bright green eyes staring up at the new robot in the room.

The small bed in the corner shows Maxie spends a considerable amount of time in the warm room with all the blinky lights and buzzy floor with that tall fellow who rubs him in all the right spots and gives him those tasty brown things when the other one isn’t looking.

He looked down and saw the feline. Well, that wasn’t Galaxy. Anyway, cats are okay, so he stroked him.

But where was Galaxy? “Hey…are you here?”
He couldn’t start working without any advice where the tools were. He had so many plans and brought them all here!

Messageman wasn’t that bad so he would build a new one, for example.

Oh those fingers weren’t warm at all, the shapes all wrong too! No this green person wasn’t at all suitable for anything.

And so Maxie went along his merry way trotting up to the control panel because it was the warmest place to take a nap after a long day of play.

… Of course Galaxy had gotten quite tired of having to clean cat hair out of the keys so the computer console was programmed to make a notable but not painful noise to discourage the feline from doing so once a certain mashing of keys was pressed.

What a terrible racket it was for the cat, worse than all the noise the two tall people make when they’re together at night. It was enough to make him run up a wall! Instead he jumped off the console and bounced off the cylinder containing Galaxy original, currently dormant body.

This was of course enough of an impact to set off an alarm.

Which brought Galaxy running into his laboratory a Singularity in one hand, hastily thrown on pants held aloft by the other before he sighs.

“Auto… I have a door bell.”

Then it’s settled!

Nado, you’re ALWAYS invited to my bro-a-thons! Come join us!

Question? Will there be cheeseburgers?

I usually make popcorn, but maybe we’ll have BBQ instead! After all, it IS almost summer time.

If you’re doing this in my house that’s going to be rather difficult. There’s considerable distance between the couch and the front yard.
